The demand for core engineering courses is once again on the rise. A key factor contributing to this resurgence is the growing focus on electronics-based manufacturing in our country. Similar growth trends are also being seen in traditional branches like mechanical engineering.

Today, many core engineering companies offer salary packages on par with those in the IT sector. Appointment letters often include clear information on career development and promotional opportunities. Additionally, competitive salaries, internships, and domain-specific guidance in core engineering fields have started to draw strong interest from both students and parents.

Educational institutions are now offering dedicated training to enhance employability skills even during the course of study. Students from institutions in smaller towns are also securing salaries comparable to their counterparts in metropolitan colleges.

Meanwhile, interest in entrepreneurship is steadily rising among the younger generation, often surpassing the appeal of conventional employment. This shift is driven by multiple factors, including government schemes, financial support, subsidies, and infrastructural resources like incubation centers supported by both central and state governments. Furthermore, many private institutions are investing in setting up such infrastructure on their own campuses. As the number of entrepreneurs increases, so too will job opportunities across sectors.

A common deterrent to entrepreneurship is the fear of risk. However, this is being addressed through financial assistance from organizations such as the Department of Science and Technology (DST). With direct mentoring from IIT professors and industry experts available on campus, students are building the confidence to start their own ventures.

In addition, organizations like AICTE conduct start-up-themed hackathon competitions that help students channel their creativity and innovation into actionable ideas.

Mere dreams aren't enough to become a successful entrepreneur. With a strong idea, dedicated effort, strategic execution, and the determination to persevere, success is within reach. To today's aspiring youth, I want to reiterate—finance is no longer a barrier to launching your own business!
