The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is a crucial screening test for Indian students who have earned a medical degree abroad and wish to practice medicine in India.

Overview:
Conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the FMGE evaluates fundamental medical knowledge and skills necessary for practicing in India. Passing this exam is mandatory for registering with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Councils.

Eligibility Criteria:
Citizenship: Indian citizens or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI).
Education: Must possess an MBBS or equivalent degree from a foreign medical institution recognized by the NMC.
Since May 2018, aspirants must qualify for the NEET examination before pursuing medical education abroad.
Exam Format:

Type: Computer-based test.
Questions: 300 theoretical multiple-choice questions.
Scoring: One mark per correct answer, no negative marking.
Passing Criteria: A minimum of 50%.
Frequency: Conducted twice annually, in June and December.
December 2024 Exam Details:

Duration: 5 hours (split between morning and afternoon sessions).
Centers: More than 60 cities, including Chennai, Coimbatore, Salem, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Madurai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Delhi.
Application Deadline: November 18, 2024.
