In today's world, there is hardly any scientific idea untouched by the influence of mathematics. Although mathematics has existed for centuries, its strong impact on scientific thinking has become widely recognized only over the past fifty years.

Scientific knowledge without mathematics is like life without a body. Yet, not everyone fully understands the depth and power of mathematical thought. Many also feel that mathematics has limited practical use, which often leads to a negative learning experience for several students.

Among all geometric curves, the circle holds a special place. It is commonly called the Queen of Curves. A circle is defined as a curve made up of points that are all at an equal distance from a fixed point. Since ancient times, humans have intuitively understood the remarkable symmetry of the circle.

Imagine a rope of fixed length. Using the same rope, one can form a square, rectangle, triangle, or circle. However, if we calculate the area enclosed by each of these shapes, mathematics shows that the circle encloses the largest area. This concept is known as the “equal perimeter problem.” Conversely, for a fixed area, the circle is the shape that requires the shortest boundary.

It is astonishing that both nature and our ancestors were aware of this unique mathematical truth. The properties of the circle continue to help us meet many practical needs even today. Life itself is often described as a circle, symbolizing continuity and completeness. In the field of mathematics, too, the circle plays a vital role.

When students strengthen their mathematical abilities, their 'circle of life'—their understanding, opportunities, and capabilities—broadens. And this growth, undoubtedly, is valuable for every learner.
