Chartered Accountancy (CA) remains a promising career path, but some students tend to drop out midway.
It's crucial for students to make informed decisions based on their interests—especially if they have a flair for business. Regardless of your academic background—be it medicine, engineering, or any other—you are eligible to pursue CA.
Students can enroll in the CA program after completing their 10th standard. The entrance exams are conducted only in English. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), headquartered in Delhi, oversees the course. After completing Class 12, aspirants must clear the Foundation exam, which consists of four papers, each requiring a minimum score of 50%.
Next comes the Intermediate exam with six papers. After clearing it, candidates must undergo two years of professional training under a certified chartered accountant. This training covers essential topics like accounting, taxation, Union Budget highlights, economic trends, and emerging technologies.
During this hands-on training period, students receive a monthly stipend of at least ₹10,000. Upon successfully passing the final examination, qualified CAs can begin working immediately. The total cost of pursuing the CA course is approximately ₹75,000.
With a growing demand for auditors, opportunities are abundant across government and private sectors. Fresh CAs can expect a starting monthly salary ranging from ₹60,000 to ₹1 lakh.
