Chennai: A recent study by the Central Drugs Quality Control Board has revealed that 135 medicines sold in India do not meet quality standards.

The board conducts regular inspections to assess the quality of medicines and detect counterfeit drugs, ensuring necessary action is taken.

In a study conducted last December, over 1,000 samples of various medicines and tablets were examined. Among them, 135 medicines used to treat bacterial infections, digestive disorders, colds, and vitamin deficiencies were found to be substandard.
