Chennai: The 14th edition of Source India - Electronics Supply Chain 2025 kicked off today at the Chennai Trade Centre, marking a key event for India's flourishing electronics sector.

Organized by the Electronics Industries Association of India (ELCINA), the event features over 150 exhibitors, industry leaders, and 3,000-4,000 delegates.

With a focus on "Enhancing the Electronics Supply Chain," this year's edition draws participation from international companies, including those from Taiwan, Singapore, Russia, and Japan.

India's electronics industry has seen impressive growth, with output rising from USD 37 billion in FY 2015-16 to over USD 115 billion in FY 2023-24.

Despite its success, India's global market share remains at just 4%, prompting a push for localizing high-tech component manufacturing and increasing R&D capabilities.

The government targets a USD 500 billion electronics sector by 2030, creating 5.5 to 6 million jobs and bolstering exports to USD 240 billion.

Dr. TRB Rajaa, Tamil Nadu's Industry Minister, emphasized the state's growing electronics sector and its contribution to high-quality, zero-defect manufacturing.

The event also introduced the MSH-ELCINA Start-Up Challenge, offering start-ups a platform to showcase innovative solutions to industry stakeholders.
