Chennai: The Captain Srinivasa Murthy Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CSMCARI) is hosting a six-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme for Ayush teachers and scientists, focusing on “Current Trends in R&D, Modern Scientific Advances, and Technology for Scientific Understanding and Promotion of the Ayush System.”

The event, which began on November 25, 2024, will run until November 30, bringing together researchers, educators, and students from across India.

The programme features expert-led workshops, interactive sessions, and lectures aimed at enhancing clinical and research skills in Ayurveda.

Topics include modern methodologies, innovative techniques, and the integration of traditional practices with contemporary science.

Dr. Elumalai, Registrar of the University of Madras, inaugurated the event, highlighting the significance of medicinal plant research post-COVID. Keynote speaker Dr. A.K. Meena, Assistant Director (Chemistry), CCRAS, New Delhi, discussed CCRAS's contributions to Ayurvedic medicine development. Dr. Hanuman Prasad Sharma from AIIMS, New Delhi, presented on quality control using LC-MS/MS techniques.

Dr. S. Chitra, Assistant Director In-charge, emphasized the institute's commitment to advancing Ayurveda through research and education. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. G. Kusuma, appreciating the participants and staff.

CSMCARI plans to organize similar initiatives to promote Ayurveda's holistic health benefits.
