Ahmedabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the 'Fast Track Immigration - Trusted Traveller Program' (FTI-TTP) on January 16, 2025.

The program, designed to provide seamless and secure immigration services, is set to roll out across 21 major airports, including Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.

Originally launched at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport in June 2024, FTI-TTP aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Viksit Bharat'@2047 vision, aiming to enhance international travel experiences for Indian citizens and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders.

The service is currently offered free of charge.

To join, travellers must register online via https://ftittp.mha.gov.in, submitting personal details and documents. Biometric data can be captured at Foreigners Regional Registration Offices (FRROs) or during airport check-ins.

The process involves scanning the boarding pass and passport at designated e-gates, with biometrics authenticated on-site. Upon successful verification, the e-gate opens, granting immigration clearance in seconds.

The first phase includes implementation at seven key airports in addition to Delhi.

The initiative is a major step towards modernizing India's immigration systems, making travel faster and more efficient for frequent flyers.
