New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the date sheet for the 2025 board exams. As per the official notification, the exams for both Class 10 and Class 12 will commence on February 15, 2025.

Class 10 exams will begin with English as the first subject, while Class 12 students will take their first exam in Entrepreneurship.

Following its established policy, CBSE will not release a merit list or division-wise marks for the 2025 board exams.

The board has also reiterated that it will not announce the list of toppers, a practice discontinued in recent years to curb "unhealthy competition" among students. This decision was first implemented during the pandemic to avoid undue stress on students.

To qualify, students must secure a minimum of 33% overall, as well as individually in each subject.

Contrary to recent reports, CBSE has clarified that there will be no reduction in the syllabus for the 2025 exams. The exam pattern remains unchanged, and there will be no open-book exams.

The board has already issued guidelines for practical exams, detailing the bifurcation of marks for theory, practicals, projects, and internal assessments.

Practical exams for Class 10 will begin on January 1, 2025, while Class 12 practicals will align with the theory exam schedule, starting on February 15, 2025.
