Chennai: Following the release of the teaser for the movie 'Bad Girl', S. Venkatesh from Madurai has lodged a formal complaint with the Cyber Crime Police, alleging that the film misrepresents schoolgirls inappropriately.

In his complaint, Venkatesh, a father of a school-going daughter and son, expressed concerns after watching the teaser on YouTube. He claims the video contains scenes that violate several laws, including the portrayal of pornographic images and crimes against children.

He stated, "It is alarming that such content is widely shared on social media platforms. Immediate legal action is necessary. The teaser showcases pornographic depictions of children, particularly schoolgirls, in a sexualized manner. This is a direct violation of Indian laws that safeguard children from sexual offenses and endangers both the welfare of children and society at large."

Venkatesh further noted that the teaser, available on YouTube, is accessible to all users, raising concerns about its widespread reach. He called for legal action against the production team, actors, and crew under the Information Technology Act, Indian Penal Code, and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act. He also requested the immediate removal of the teaser from the platform and the registration of a case against those involved.

Petition by Tamil Nadu Nadar Sangam
The Tamil Nadu Nadar Sangam has also raised concerns over the teaser's portrayal of schoolchildren. In a petition submitted to Chief Minister Stalin, the group condemned the depiction of schoolchildren engaging in inappropriate behaviors such as discussions on sex, alcohol consumption, and sexual activity.

The Sangam expressed distress over the negative portrayal of a schoolgirl from the Brahmin community, which they fear could lead to teasing and caste-based divisions among students.

The petition stressed that such depictions are not in line with Tamil Nadu's cultural values, where women are traditionally revered. It called for the film's release to be blocked.

Tamil Nadu Brahmin Sangam's Opposition
Similarly, Kovai Ganesan, President of the Tamil Nadu Brahmin Sangam, and Pammal Rama Krishnan, State Coordinator, echoed these sentiments, urging that 'Bad Girl' be prohibited from screening due to its offensive portrayal of the Brahmin community.
