Chennai: CSIR-SERC hosted an event as part of the One Week One Theme (OWOT) Programme focused on Energy (Conventional and Nonconventional) and Energy Devices (EED).

Dr. M.V. Ramanamurthy, Advisor & Programme Head of the Deep Ocean Mission, was the Chief Guest. Dr. N. Anandavalli, Director of CSIR-SERC, delivered the welcome address and highlighted CSIR-SERC's commitment to renewable energy.

Dr. Ramanamurthy discussed offshore wind potential in Tamil Nadu and Gujarat, addressing the challenges of offshore monopile and floating platform installations. Presentations included CSIR-SERC's work on floating offshore wind turbines and solar farms, hybrid floating farms, and agrivoltaics.

Keynote speakers Prof. M.A. Atmanand, Prof. S. Nallayarsu, and Dr. Purnima Jalihal covered topics such as platform stability, crane availability for turbine installation, and ocean energy challenges.

A panel discussion on innovation and cross-sector collaboration concluded the event. Dr. A. Subbulakshmi and Ms. N. Ramya coordinated the program.
