Chennai: Doctors in Tamil Nadu have expressed serious concerns over the transparency of the NEET PG results announced on Friday by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).
The exams were conducted on August 11, and only percentiles were released without disclosing individual marks, leaving candidates unclear about how these percentiles were calculated.
The issue has sparked nationwide concern, with many doctors criticizing the lack of transparency, especially in the normalisation process. Some candidates reported receiving scores that differed significantly from their expectations, further fueling confusion.
Unlike previous years, NEET PG 2024 was conducted in two sessions, with separate question papers for the morning and afternoon exams. To address the variation, NBEMS released percentiles instead of detailed scorecards.
A doctor, speaking anonymously, highlighted the challenge of verifying their results without scorecards and answer keys. They are now waiting for the individual marks to be released on August 30, though there is still uncertainty about whether the marks will be fully disclosed.
Dr. A.R. Shanthi, Secretary, Doctors Association for Social Equality (DASE), criticized the sudden decision to hold the exam in two sessions, stating it reflects the government's inability to manage the exam process efficiently.
