Chennai: Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science (HITS) and Cranfield University, a leading UK postgraduate institution, signed an MoU at the Farnborough Airshow on July 24.

This partnership will foster academic and research collaborations in fields such as aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, materials, sustainability, defence, automotive, information technology, transportation, and management.

The agreement includes a range of programs, including Double Degree, Dual-Degree, and Postgraduate degree programs, along with collaborative research initiatives.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman of Hindustan Group of Institutions and Chancellor of HITS, and Prof. Dame Karen Holford DBE, Chief Executive and Vice Chancellor of Cranfield University.

Dr. Verghese highlighted the collaboration as a significant move towards global educational excellence, offering students enhanced opportunities in aerospace. Prof. Holford expressed excitement over the partnership, emphasizing its potential to create innovative educational pathways and advance knowledge in various technologies.

HITS, located in Padur, Chennai, is a prominent NAAC A+ accredited self-financed deemed-to-be university.
