Chennai: The skies over Chennai Marina will witness a thrilling display of aerial prowess as the Indian Air Force prepares for a grand air show through 20 variety of aircrafts in line on 6 Oct 2024 commencing from 11:00 AM.

In celebration of its 92nd anniversary, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to present an exhilarating air show in Chennai.

Themed "Bhartiya Vayu Sena - Saksham, Sashakt, Atmanirbhar" (Potent, Powerful, Self-Reliant), the event will emphasize the IAF's dedication to protecting India's skies.

Spectators can expect a breathtaking exhibition of aerial maneuvers, underscoring the IAF's expertise and strength.

The air show, to be held over the scenic Marina Beach from 11 AM to 1:30 PM, will feature 72 aircraft displaying breathtaking aerobatic maneuvers and synchronized formations.

Audiences can expect thrilling performances from IAF's elite teams, including Akash Ganga, known for their skydiving mastery, the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team's precision flying, and Sarang Helicopter Display Team's aerial artistry.

Additionally, the IAF will showcase 20 variety of aircrafts from its fleet, such as the indigenously designed Light Combat Aircraft Tejas, the Light Combat Helicopter Prachand, and historic aircraft like the Dakota and Harvard.

This grand display is open to all, offering the people of Chennai a rare chance to witness the IAF's prowess.

Following last year's successful show in Prayagraj, which attracted thousands of spectators, a similar turnout is anticipated.

The event is set to be a memorable tribute to India's aviation strength and the IAF's role in safeguarding the nation.

List of aircrafts to showcase their capabilities are Akash Ganga, Surya Kiran, Sarang, LCH, Tejas, Chetak, HTT-40, Rafale, Dakota, Pilatus PC-7, Harvard, C-295, DO-228, AEW&C, Mig -29, IL-78, Mirage, P8i, Jaguar and Sukhoi 30 MKI.
