Chennai: The Southern Zonal Group of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) held its 262nd meeting in Chennai, where new office bearers for the 2025-26 term were elected.

Mrs. Revathi S Raghunathan has been elected as the President of the Southern Zonal Group at the Chennai office, Tamil Nadu. Mr. Subbarao Muppala will serve as Vice President at the Guntur office, Andhra Pradesh, while Mrs. Deepika Varghese takes on the role of Secretary at the Kochi office, Kerala. Mr. Y. V. Banu Narayana Rao has been appointed as Treasurer at the Secunderabad office, Telangana.

In addition, Shri Pramod Rammohan Hegde from Bangalore, Karnataka, has been elected as President of the South Indian Chartered Accountants Students Association for 2025-26.

Mrs. Revathi S Raghunathan's election marks a historic milestone, as she becomes the first woman to serve three terms as President of the Southern Zonal Group. The last woman Chartered Accountant to achieve such recognition was Mrs. R. Sivabogam (1955-1958).

The newly elected leadership aims to drive professional development and strengthen the Southern Zonal Group's role in advancing the accounting profession.
