Chennai: The IIT-M Pravartak Technologies Foundation, a Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Madras, has launched a Database Engineering Hackathon, inviting top developers and engineers nationwide to tackle critical database challenges.

With cash prizes of ₹3 lakh, ₹2 lakh, and ₹1 lakh for the top three teams, the event aims to foster advanced data solutions, creative problem-solving, and performance optimization among India's brightest minds.

In addition to prize money, top teams may receive incubation support, certifications, and opportunities to collaborate with IIT Madras Pravartak's research community, recognized for innovation and industry expertise.

Registration is open until 24th November 2024 on the HackerEarth platform.

IIT Madras Director, Prof. V. Kamakoti, emphasized the institution's commitment to real-world tech challenges, stating, “This hackathon reflects our mission to advance database engineering research and innovation.”

Dr. M.J. Shankar Raman, CEO of IIT-M Pravartak, highlighted the event as a platform for transformative database solutions essential for the digital era.

The hackathon promises skill-building, professional networking, and a pathway into IIT-M Pravartak's research initiatives, supported by the Department of Science and Technology's National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS).
