Chennai: IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has partnered with BodhBridge Education, an organization founded by IIT Madras alumni, to provide free Career Counselling Certification Training for school teachers across India.
This initiative aims to empower 10,000 teachers from 5,000 schools within the next three months, with the first training session set to begin on December 14, 2024. Registration closes on December 12.
The program is designed to enhance teachers' ability to guide students in identifying their strengths, interests, and career aspirations. By equipping educators with essential counseling skills, the initiative seeks to foster well-informed educational and career decisions among students.
The training covers topics such as career guidance frameworks, self-assessment tools, top career options, and strategies for choosing appropriate courses and colleges.
Mr. Balamurali Shankar, Chief Knowledge Officer at IIT Madras Pravartak, emphasized the project's significance, stating, “We aim to enable teachers to serve as effective career counselors, shaping the futures of countless students by providing accessible training.”
Open to school teachers, principals, educators, and counselors, the certification program is free of charge.
Interested participants can register at bodhbridge.iitmpravartak.org.in.
Upon successful completion and assessment, participants will receive certification, enhancing their roles as mentors and guides in the evolving educational landscape.
