Chennai: A student from IIT Madras has secured a record-breaking job offer with an annual salary of ₹4.3 crore, marking the highest-ever placement package in the institute's history.

The placement season for 2024-25 has commenced at IITs across the country, including IITs in Delhi, Mumbai, Guwahati, and Gorakhpur.

Leading global companies such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Quantbox are among the prominent recruiters this year, offering lucrative opportunities to top talent.

The record offer at IIT Madras was extended by Jane Street, a prominent Wall Street trading firm, for a position at its Hong Kong division.

The student, whose name has not been disclosed, will earn an impressive ₹35.8 lakh per month under the package.

Apart from this standout placement, a significant number of students from IIT Madras have been recruited by leading firms across diverse sectors such as software, banking, and finance.

Notably, nine students have received international job offers, reflecting the global demand for IIT graduates.

This milestone underscores IIT Madras's reputation as a hub for excellence in education and its ability to attract top-tier recruiters from around the world.
