Delhi: Nine additional campuses approved for 2024-29 with an outlay of ₹1309.13 crore, subject to land availability.
New Infrastructure:
Approval for an eighth CFSL in Samba, Jammu, and seven additional CFSLs under the National Forensic Infrastructure Enhancement Scheme with a ₹860.3 crore budget.
Quality Assurance and Guidelines
The Directorate of Forensic Science Services (DFSS) has issued comprehensive quality manuals and standard operating procedures, including guidelines for NABL accreditation and forensic evidence handling.
Future Outlook
With the enactment of new criminal laws mandating forensic investigations for severe crimes, the demand for forensic services is expected to increase significantly. The government's initiatives aim to address this challenge through strategic investments in infrastructure, training, and modernization.
