India's Ramesh and Suraj finalists at AYDA Awards

Chennai: The AYDA Awards 2023/2024 international finale concluded at ITC Grand Chola, Chennai, featuring national winners from 17 countries.
Eromitha Ramesh from R V College of Architecture, Bengaluru, and Suraj Ighe from Academy of Architecture, Mumbai, stood out in the Architecture and Interior Design categories, respectively.
This year's theme, "CONVERGE: Championing Purposeful Designs," encouraged innovative and sustainable solutions.
Lim Jeng Ying from Malaysia and Alifiah Azzahrah from Indonesia were named AYDA Designers of the Year and will attend Harvard University's Graduate School of Design's Design Discovery Program in June 2025.
The competition highlighted personal growth and presentation skills through coaching sessions.
Notable winners included:
Best Design Impact Awards: Amirmasoud Aghajanizadeh (Iran) and Jesslyn Tew (Malaysia)
Best Sustainable Design Awards: Danh Minh An (Vietnam) and Lim Gia Zhun (Singapore)
Nippon Paint Colour Awards: Nilrandha Fonseka (Sri Lanka) and Panisa Wongchaom (Thailand)
Judges Choice Award: Truong Thanh Qui (Vietnam)
Nippon Paint, supporting the competition, aims to foster creativity and innovation among young designers.
The AYDA Awards, established in 2008, is now a premier platform with over 59,000 entries globally.
The 2024/2025 theme will be "CONVERGE: Glocal Design Solutions."
