Indian Maritime University hosts 9th Convocation

Chennai: The Indian Maritime University (IMU) celebrated its 9th Convocation on October 7, 2024, at its Chennai headquarters. A total of 1,974 students graduated, including four PhD scholars and one MS by Research scholar.
Dr. Malini V. Shankar, Vice Chancellor of IMU, presided over the event, delivering the Presidential Address and highlighting the university's achievements, including the establishment of an Incubation Cell and signing over five MoUs with renowned institutions.
Harsh Vardhan Shringla, the Chief Guest, presented medals to the top performers and urged graduates to be ambassadors for both India and IMU. Of the total graduates, 256 received their degrees in person, while the remaining 1,718 were awarded degrees in absentia.
The event showcased IMU's significant contributions to the global maritime sector, reflecting its growing prominence as a leading maritime university.
