Mumbai: Malabar Group, a leading Indian conglomerate and parent company of Malabar Gold & Diamonds, unveiled its National Scholarship Programme for 2024 at the Bharat Diamond Bourse, reinforcing its commitment to girls' education.
Inaugurated by Piyush Goyal, Honourable Minister of Commerce & Industry, the initiative allocates ₹16 crore to support over 21,000 girl students across India.
Chairman MP Ahammed emphasized that education is vital for societal transformation, stating, “Our scholarship programme reflects our belief that education unlocks opportunities.” Since its launch in 2007, the Malabar National Scholarship Programme has invested over ₹60 crore, aiding more than 95,000 girls.
The Group also runs the Hunger-Free World Project, distributing 50,000 food packets daily to underprivileged communities in India and Zambia.
Additionally, the Grandma Home project provides accommodation for destitute women, with plans for expansion into major cities.
With over ₹263 crore invested in various social initiatives, Malabar Group's ongoing focus on education and hunger relief highlights its belief in empowering marginalized communities for sustainable growth.
This commitment will guide the Group's future social responsibilities and business endeavors.
