Puducherry: The Department of Mechanical Engineering at NIT Puducherry inaugurated a workshop series on "Scientific Awareness and Hands-on Experience in 3D Scanning and 3D Printing Technologies" under the DST NCSTC project.
The program, running from December 2024 to March 2025, aims to benefit over 1,000 students from 20 schools.
The event was launched on December 9, 2024, in Sigma Hall, NIT Puducherry. Smt. Vijayamohana, Chief Education Officer, Karaikal, inaugurated the program, with Prof. Makarand M. Ghanrekhar, Director, presiding. Dr. M.V.A. Raju Bahubalendruni, the project's Principal Investigator, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the workshop's objectives.
The Chief Guest emphasized the transformative potential of 3D scanning and printing in education, introducing students to its applications in creating precise digital models.
Faculty, department heads, and educators attended the event, which concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. J. Ronald Aseer, Co-Investigator, followed by the National Anthem.
