Chennai: Despite the state government declaring Diwali holiday from Thursday afternoon until Sunday, many private schools in Tirupur are holding special classes for students preparing for Class 10, Plus 1, and Plus 2 board exams.

These schools, which observed holidays only for Diwali and the following day, conducted full-day sessions on Thursday and have scheduled additional classes on Saturday.

According to some parents, schools are prioritizing student preparation to achieve high pass rates and top scores in public exams.
