Chennai: Saveetha Engineering College in Chennai has become India's first institution to introduce a fully flexible Choice-Based Credit System, a key feature of the New Education Policy 2019.
This innovative system, branded as "Flexi Learn," allows students to personalize their educational journey by selecting their subjects, faculty, schedule, and domain from the first semester.
Flexi Learn enables students to complete course requirements in six semesters, offering extended internships and experiential learning. Supported by an AI-enabled ERP and Learning Management System, Flexi Learn positions Saveetha Engineering College at the forefront of educational innovation.
The college recently secured a trademark for Flexi Learn, with officials from AICTE, DST, and the Indian Patent Office participating in the commemorative event.
Dr. N. M. Veeraiyan, Founder President & Chancellor of Saveetha University, highlighted the system's alignment with the National Education Policy's goals.
Dr. S. Rajesh, Director, emphasized the holistic education offered, covering core engineering, Industry 5.0 technologies, and diverse fields like finance, digital marketing, and languages, enhancing students' employability and entrepreneurship skills.
