Kovai: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore, hosted an International Conference on "Unleashing the Power of Seed & Crop Health Innovations for a Food Secured World" on November 21-22, 2024, in collaboration with the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute.

Dr. R. Umarani, Director, Seed Centre, highlighted the need for advanced agricultural technologies to meet the global food demand for an estimated 9.7 billion people by 2050.

TNAU Vice-Chancellor Dr. V. Geethalakshmi emphasized the significance of quality seeds and applauded innovations like Vithai Amirtham seed coating polymer.

Key speakers included Dr. R. Viswanathan of ICAR-IISR and Dr. Allen Britten of Cape Breton University, Canada.
