Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has undertaken significant initiatives in 2024 to expedite recruitment and streamline its examination processes.

The Commission successfully selected 10,701 candidates for various posts across 30 exams conducted this year, addressing vacancies notified in 2022 and 2023.

To boost employment among Tamil Nadu's youth, TNPSC announced 14,353 vacancies in 2024, including 1,406 positions in Revenue Departments and 661 roles allocated for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, emphasizing social justice.

Key Highlights of TNPSC's Efforts in 2024:
Transparency and Results: TNPSC published final answer keys, detailed marks, and candidate lists for 27 exams. Results for major Combined Services Examinations (Groups I, II, IIA, and IV) were released within record time—33 to 92 working days.
Updated Syllabus: Syllabi for key exams were revised, including shifting Group IIA mains to an objective format. Technical exams were consolidated into three categories: Interviewed Posts, Non-Interviewed Posts, and Diploma/Apprenticeship Grades.
Advanced Exam Management: TNPSC conducted 103 computer-based tests for technical posts, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
Candidate-Friendly Measures:
The revised 2024 exam planner was adhered to strictly, while the 2025 schedule was released two months in advance to facilitate early preparation.
A simplified certificate upload process was introduced, allowing candidates to submit documents online.
Notifications were updated with detailed instructions on eligibility, syllabus, and online application procedures.

To ensure timely updates, TNPSC launched a dedicated Telegram channel and made all exam-related details accessible on its official website, said a release from Gopala Sundara Raj, Secretary, TNPSC.
