Chennai: Over 35,000 candidates have registered for MBBS and BDS courses in Tamil Nadu so far, according to the Directorate of Medical Education.

Admissions are underway for 9,200 MBBS seats and 2,150 BDS seats across government and private medical colleges in the state. The online application process commenced on June 6 through the official portal www.tnmedicalselection.org.

Officials said that this year, applications opened ahead of the NEET exam results, providing students more time to submit forms.

In the first six days, 35,000 registrations have been recorded, of which 22,428 applications have been completed and submitted. The number of applicants is expected to rise further once the NEET results are announced, the Directorate added.
