Chennai: Agilisium, a leading player in Agentic AI solutions for the life sciences sector, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) to establish the country's first Agentic AI-powered Digital Health & Research Centre in Chennai.
The centre aims to transform India's healthcare landscape through the integration of Generative AI, data science, and clinical research. It will serve as a hub for innovation in digital diagnostics, precision medicine, AI-enabled clinical trials, and intelligent decision-support systems, the institutions said in a joint statement.
Under the partnership, Agilisium will bring in its capabilities in AI, GenAI, biostatistics, and autonomous Agentic AI, while SRIHER will contribute its clinical expertise, datasets, and infrastructure. The centre will also pilot AI tools in real-world hospital settings and focus on predictive analytics to aid early disease detection and public health response.
A key initiative under the MoU includes the Clean Health Data Initiative aimed at improving the quality and standardization of structured and unstructured medical data. Agilisium will deploy AI-led tools to ensure global compliance and research-readiness of data, while SRIHER will provide access to anonymised clinical records.
The collaboration also envisions the development of digital twins, AI-powered hospital management systems, and GenAI-based tools such as virtual assistants and chatbots for use by doctors and patients.
Additionally, a first-of-its-kind academic certification programme in Generative AI for Healthcare will be launched, jointly delivered by the two institutions to train future-ready healthcare professionals.
Agilisium CEO Raj Babu said the initiative marks a pivotal moment in transforming healthcare through AI-driven processes and talent development. SRIHER Vice Chancellor Dr Uma Sekar said the partnership will enable advancement in patient outcomes through the fusion of AI technology and medical expertise.
The initiative is expected to drive translational research, improve patient care, and position India as a global leader in digital health innovation.
