New Delhi: Indian corporates are increasingly turning to artificial intelligence-driven strategic foresight to manage risks amid rising global volatility, marked by economic shocks, geopolitical tensions, climate events and technological disruptions, experts have said.

In a joint article, BIMTECH faculty members Dr Shalini Singh, Dr Reeti Kulshrestha and Dr Prateek Jain said traditional predictive risk models are proving inadequate in an environment where risks are interconnected, fast-moving and nonlinear. AI-powered systems, they noted, are enabling firms to move from prediction to prescription by analysing vast volumes of structured and unstructured data in real time.

They cited examples from global firms in pharmaceuticals, retail, banking, logistics and technology that use AI for scenario modelling, real-time risk sensing and proactive decision-making. Indian companies are also deploying AI to anticipate cyber threats, climate-induced disruptions and supply-chain shocks, shifting risk management from periodic review to continuous monitoring.

The experts said AI-integrated foresight is also influencing corporate social responsibility by helping organisations anticipate long-term societal risks, align ESG priorities and strengthen business resilience in an increasingly uncertain global landscape.
