Coimbatore/Mhow: Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, and the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on advanced research and innovation in cyber defence and related technologies.

The agreement aims to strengthen India's digital defence ecosystem by integrating Amrita's academic and research expertise with MCTE's operational experience and technical proficiency.

MCTE is a premier institution of the Indian Army and a Centre of Excellence in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, 5G/6G, Cyber Security, Internet of Things (IoT), Satellite Communications, and Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS).

The MoU outlines joint initiatives including development of specialized training modules, short-term courses, certificate programmes, faculty and student exchanges, and collaborative research targeting future defence technologies.

Major General Gautam Mahajan, Deputy Commandant and Principal Instructor, MCTE, said, “This MoU is more than a formal agreement—it is a convergence of operational insights and academic innovation. Together, we aim to build scalable, real-time solutions for national defence.”

Dr. P. Ajit Kumar, Registrar, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, who signed the MoU on behalf of the university, reiterated the institution's commitment to national service through innovation.

Prof. Sethumadhavan, Director, Cyber Security TIFAC CORE at Amrita, noted, “This partnership not only translates research into impactful solutions but also aligns with India's aspiration for global technological leadership.”

The collaboration supports national missions such as “Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” the Indian Army's “Year of Transformation,” and the broader goal of a “Viksit Bharat.”
