Patna:Bihar Engineering University (BEU) and the State Board of Technical Education (SBTE) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding with NASSCOM to provide industry-aligned skill training to students, officials said.
The agreement, part of the centrally supported FutureSkills Prime programme, was signed in the presence of Science, Technology and Technical Education Minister Sunil Kumar, department secretary Pratima and BEU Vice-Chancellor Suresh Kant Verma, among others.
Kumar said such collaborations help directly link technical education with industry requirements. He said students of government engineering and polytechnic colleges in the state would gain access to training in emerging technologies through digital platforms like FutureSkills Prime.
He added that the virtual nature of the platform would enable students from rural areas and smaller districts to access the same quality of training as those studying in major cities and reputed institutions.
Pratima said government engineering and polytechnic colleges in Bihar already offer advanced, industry-oriented courses and that the MoU would further benefit students through online courses, virtual internships, foundation programmes and deep-skilling modules.
She said the courses would cover areas such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, cyber security and cloud computing.
The department will appoint a nodal officer in each college to link students with the programme and ensure training quality, the statement said, adding that regular workshops and orientation programmes would be conducted for students and teachers.
