Chennai: The Bharatiya Center for Excellence, an institution dedicated to Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), announced a strategic collaboration with Panchakarma Productions, creators of the feature film His Story of Ithihaas, aimed at fostering a more authentic understanding of India's historical narrative.

The partnership combines the Center's True Itihasa Project, which uses evidence-based research in archaeology, linguistics, and genetics to reconstruct India's civilizational history, with the film's storytelling, which follows a teacher challenging biased and incomplete history taught in schools. The initiative seeks to bridge scholarly research and popular culture, encouraging critical thinking and public dialogue on decolonising history.

Ramesh Mahalingam, Trustee of the Madras Sanskrit College, said, “This collaboration represents a vital step in taking our academic legacy to a modern audience. By joining with cinema, we aim to ensure a truer understanding of India's Itihasa reaches all sections of society. Our goal is not to fight the past but to equip the future with India's timeless wisdom.”

Director Manpreet Singh Dhami said the film is designed to provoke thought and encourage audiences to look beyond conventional textbooks. “Partnering with the scholarly work of the Bharatiya Center for Excellence adds academic weight to our call for historical re-evaluation,” he added.

The collaboration will launch with screenings at institutions including IIT Madras and RR Sabha, Mylapore, targeting students, scholars, and the public to spark a nationwide movement to revisit and understand India's civilizational heritage.
