New Delhi: Bharti Airtel on Tuesday launched "Priority Postpaid", a new service powered by 5G slicing technology aimed at offering postpaid customers enhanced network quality and seamless connectivity during high traffic demand.

The telecom operator said it has upgraded its 5G network with slicing capabilities that allow intelligent segmentation of network capacity to provide a more stable and dependable experience for postpaid users.

The service is targeted at customers who rely on uninterrupted connectivity for work, entertainment and online collaboration, the company said in a statement.

Airtel said the launch marks the first rollout of slicing-based 5G services in India. Similar services have been introduced earlier in countries such as the US, Singapore, the UK and Malaysia.

Commenting on the launch, Airtel India MD and CEO Shashwat Sharma said the service is aimed at delivering a superior and reliable experience to customers in crowded or high-demand situations.

"Priority Postpaid is our latest innovation powered by 5G slicing technology. It provides a superior, more reliable and dependable experience to our customers," Sharma said.

The Priority service will be available across all Airtel postpaid plans, with existing customers getting the benefit automatically. Prepaid users can switch through the Airtel app or by visiting Airtel stores.

The plans start at Rs 449 plus GST for individual users and go up to Rs 1,749 plus GST for family plans, bundled with benefits such as unlimited data and calling, OTT subscriptions, cloud storage and premium digital services.
