Delhi: The Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), through its Centre of Education for All (BCall), has conducted a five-day 'Train the Trainer' workshop on inclusive higher education under the EU-funded Project AIDEdu.

The programme focused on integrating generative AI in teaching and learning while aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, 10 and 17.

Participants from Spain, Austria, Latvia, Nepal and India attended the sessions, which explored disability, inclusion, constitutional values, the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and universal design for learning (UDL). The workshop also highlighted digital platforms and global best practices from Spain to contextualise inclusive models in South Asian higher education.

BIMTECH faculty shared data-based insights on diversity, equity, inclusivity and accessibility among students. Eminent experts, including Dr. Javier Fernández Molina and Dr. Mario Guillo from the University of Alicante, Spain, led discussions on using generative AI to enhance inclusivity and engagement in classrooms.

BIMTECH Director Dr. Prabina Rajib said the initiative created a platform for collaboration and strategic planning, helping educators adapt EU practices to Indian and Nepalese contexts. Dr. Himanshi Tiwari, Project Lead, outlined UDL strategies for adoption in Indian institutions.

BCall, the institute's Centre of Education for All, is equipped with assistive technologies such as adjustable workstations, large-print keyboards, speech-to-text tools and accessibility plugins, and aims to emerge as a regional hub for inclusive education.
