Chennai: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the second phase of the Class 10 board examinations from May 15, marking the introduction of a dual-exam system from this academic year.

Under the new system, students who score lower marks in the first board examination will be given an opportunity to reappear in up to three subjects to improve their performance.

According to the schedule, the Mathematics exam will be held on May 15, followed by English on May 16 and Science on May 18. Examinations for other language papers will be conducted on May 19, while vocational subjects are scheduled for May 20. The Sanskrit examination will be held on May 21.

The initiative aims to provide students with an additional opportunity to enhance their scores and reduce examination-related stress, officials said.
