Hosur (Tamil Nadu): The Central Sericultural Germplasm Resources Centre (CSGRC) of the Central Silk Board will host a national seminar on conservation of sericulture genetic resources at Hosur on March 6.
Organised under the Ministry of Textiles, the seminar will focus on challenges, innovations and future pathways in conserving and sustainably utilising genetic resources crucial for the growth of India's silk sector.
Senior officials of the Central Silk Board, including Member Secretary P. Sivakumar, Director (Finance) Girisha P. S., Joint Secretary (Technical) Naresh Babu N. and Director (Technical) Manthira S. Moorthy, are expected to participate in the programme.
Director of CSGRC N. Dhahira Beevi will also take part in the event.
Scientists, academicians, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders from across the country will deliberate on conservation strategies, emerging research innovations and collaborative opportunities aimed at strengthening India's sericulture sector.
Technical sessions during the seminar will focus on recent developments and future research directions in the field of sericulture.
