Chennai: The Department of Financial Services (DFS), Government of India, has launched a three-month saturation campaign from July 1 to September 30, 2025, to ensure comprehensive coverage of key financial inclusion schemes at the Gram Panchayat level across all districts of Tamil Nadu.
The campaign aims to deepen the reach of flagship schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY), ensuring that every eligible citizen is covered.
A total of 12,525 Gram Panchayats across Tamil Nadu's 38 districts are being targeted. Camps have been operational since July 1, following a State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) meeting on June 27 that brought together stakeholders including the RBI, NABARD, state officials, district collectors, and banks.
Lead District Managers (LDMs) have assigned panchayats to specific banks, and allocation details are available on www.slbctn.com.
Key activities under the campaign include opening of new PMJDY accounts for unbanked adults, re-verification of KYC details, enrolments under PMJJBY, PMSBY, and APY, awareness on digital fraud, access to unclaimed deposits, and updating nominations.
Between July 1 and July 8, 1,263 camps were conducted in Tamil Nadu. During this period, 11,079 PMJDY accounts were opened, 23,973 individuals enrolled under PMJJBY, 36,027 under PMSBY, and 10,306 under APY. Additionally, 3,237 re-KYC verifications were done for PMJDY accounts and 3,004 nominations were updated.
The DFS and SLBC have reaffirmed their commitment to advancing financial inclusion and building an economically resilient society.
