Chennai: Chennai-based artificial intelligence startup Unifor has raised Rs 2,288 crore from leading global investors, marking a significant milestone in the city's growing AI ecosystem.

Founded in 2008, Unifor provides customer service solutions using conversational AI, enabling companies to reduce human errors and save time. Its services cater to diverse sectors, including banking, airlines, and service centers.

The latest funding round saw participation from major investors such as NVIDIA, AMD, Snowflake, and Databricks. The company plans to utilise the capital to enhance its AI and data platform, Business AI Cloud, and drive further innovation in conversational AI technologies.

According to Tamil Nadu government's guidance platform X, Unifor's valuation now exceeds Rs 22,000 crore, underscoring its leadership in the AI space and positioning Chennai as a significant player on the global artificial intelligence map.

Unifor's growth reflects the rising demand for AI-driven automation solutions and the city's emergence as a hub for advanced technology startups.
