Chennai: Chennai Police Commissioner Arun on Monday cautioned students and parents against trusting middlemen for securing seats in medical colleges.

In a statement, the Commissioner said the rank list for medical admissions has been prepared based on NEET scores and that reservations are allotted only through counselling conducted on the official government website.

He said that during daily grievance redressal camps, several complaints were received about people being cheated by paying lakhs of rupees to middlemen promising medical seats. Such complaints have been increasing in recent times, he noted.

“The public should remain vigilant and not trust any middlemen claiming to secure medical college seats. Students must take part in government counselling, visit colleges directly and approach the admission centre for guidance,” the statement added.
