New Delhi: Indian students aspiring to pursue a full-time Master's degree at a UK university can apply for the Commonwealth Masters Scholarship 2026, offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission.

The scholarship covers full tuition fees, return airfare to the UK, and a monthly stipend of up to £1,781 to meet living and accommodation expenses.

Eligible candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent residents, have completed a Bachelor's degree with at least 60 per cent marks or a Master's degree with a minimum of 50 per cent marks by September 2026, and belong to financially disadvantaged backgrounds with an annual family income not exceeding ₹4.5 lakh. Applicants should have secured an offer from an eligible UK university by November 30, 2025. Generally, the scholarship is not applicable for MBA programs or second postgraduate degrees.

The scholarship supports studies in key areas including science and technology for development, health systems improvement, innovation and entrepreneurship, global peace and governance, resilience and crisis management, and access, inclusion and opportunity.

Applications must be submitted online via the Ministry of Education's Sakshat portal (https://proposal-sakshat.samarth.edu.in) and the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission website (https://cscuk.fcdo.gov.uk/apply/).

The application window opens on September 2, 2025, with deadlines of October 14 for the Commission and November 30 for the Sakshat portal.
