Chennai: The B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), on Friday announced the launch of a Centre of Excellence for Built Environment (CoEBE) and an Executive Leadership Programme (ELP) in Construction Project Management.

Officials said the CoEBE is aimed at driving innovation, sustainability and digital transformation across construction, real estate and infrastructure. It will serve as a platform connecting academia, industry and policymakers by offering research and advisory services, publishing sector insights, hosting policy dialogues and supporting start-ups in areas such as prop-tech and smart urban solutions.

The Executive Leadership Programme, designed for mid-career professionals, will cover project planning, risk management, contract administration, sustainability and digital tools, with a pathway to international credentials such as MRICS.

RICS, with a 150-year legacy in setting global standards in land, property, construction and infrastructure, will provide expertise for the initiatives, while Crescent will leverage its academic depth and entrepreneurial ecosystem, officials said.

The institute added that the launch marked a step towards equipping professionals and researchers with the skills to build resilient, sustainable and inclusive cities.
