Chennai: CSIR-SERC organized the "Dr. N. Lakshmanan Memorial Quiz Competition" for Corporation School students in Chennai on February 28th, 2024, as part of National Science Day celebrations. The aim was to foster scientific research interest among students.Dr. N. Anandavalli, Director of CSIR-SERC, delivered a motivational speech encouraging creativity and hard work. Over 60 students from 21 schools participated in the quiz, with the top six teams advancing to the finals.The event included a screening test, lab visits, and interactive sessions with scientists. Students witnessed various experiments and actively engaged with scientists, posing numerous questions.The quiz, conducted by A.K. Farvaze Ahmed, featured various rounds of science questions and was well-received by enthusiastic students and staff.Prize-winning schools will receive trophies, and winning teams will be awarded shields and cash prizes during the National Science Day Function on February 29th, 2024.
