Chennai: The Department of Posts has invited applications from eligible individuals and organisations for opening Franchisee Outlets under its revamped Franchisee Scheme, aimed at expanding postal services and enhancing customer convenience.

According to an official release, the Franchisee Outlets will provide a wide array of postal products and services such as sale of stamps, booking of Speed Post, Registered Post, money orders and various retail services. The initiative is intended to improve accessibility to postal facilities, particularly in regions with limited or no presence of Departmental Post Offices.

Indian citizens or organisations possessing suitable premises and basic knowledge of postal operations are eligible to apply. Applicants must also be willing to invest in the required infrastructure.

Interested candidates can submit their filled-in application forms along with the necessary documents to the designated postal authority.

The last date for submission of applications is July 31, 2025, the release said.
