Since its inception in 2017, the Samagra Shiksha program has emerged as a hub in the pursuit of equal opportunities and uniform learning outcomes across pre-school to class 12. With a renewed five-year commitment from 2021-22 to 2025-26, backed by a substantial financial allocation of Rs 1,85,398.32 crore, the program aligns seamlessly with the visionary goals outlined in the National Education Policy 2020.The program's key objectives, ranging from supporting states in implementing the National Education Policy to fostering early childhood care and education, have been actively pursued with remarkable success. Noteworthy achievements from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, include:1. Vidya Piravesh: Implemented nationwide across 36 States/Union Territories, Vidya Piravesh significantly improved the 'school environment,' benefiting a staggering 1,01,84,529 students in 8,45,128 schools.2. National Initiative (Nishta): Expanded to include school headmasters and teachers at all levels, Nishta witnessed the certification of 32,648 out of 69,751 primary coaches in 30 states and union territories.3. Vidya Research Center: Under the Salakrasiksha initiative, Vidya Research Centers were established nationally, fostering educational research and development in key states and union territories.4. District Education and Training Institutes: Dynamic institutions under Samagra Shiksha, with a budget of Rs 9,195 crore over the next five years, these institutes are set to elevate teacher training, with approximately 120 institutes targeted for upgrade in the financial year 2023-24.5. National Achievement Survey: The State Education Achievement Inspection, conducted in November 2023, as part of the National Achievement Survey, evaluated educational standards at the middle school level, covering learners from grades 3, 6, and 9.
