Tiruppur: To support students who have completed their Class 12 and are aspiring to join engineering courses, a special Engineering Counseling Guidance Program will be held in Tiruppur on Saturday (June 29).

The event- Vazhikatti is being organized by Dinamalar newspaper in association with Chennai Institute of Technology.

The Tamil Nadu government facilitates engineering admissions through online counseling via the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). Seats in Anna University Colleges, government and government-aided engineering colleges, and government quota seats in private colleges are filled through this centralized counseling process.

To help students and parents navigate this process and clarify doubts related to course selection, scope of engineering streams, and counseling procedures, the event will feature expert sessions. The program will take place at Vidya Karthik Wedding Hall, Tarapuram Road, Tiruppur, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Admission is free.

The initiative is jointly supported by Dinamalar, Karpagam Institutions, Cheran Group of Institutions, and Sri Easwar College of Engineering.

Former Director of Student Admissions at Anna University, Chennai, Dr. Nagarajan, will speak on the online counseling process, including choice filling, provisional allotment, and key steps in the counseling procedure.

Education consultant Ramesh Prabha will provide insights into engineering streams with strong job prospects and emerging trends in technology education.

The session will also cover counseling for special reservations, future demand for core departments, and strategies to choose the best college and course.

Students and parents are encouraged to participate and take advantage of expert guidance ahead of the counseling schedule.
