Madurai/Sivakasi: With engineering aspirants gearing up for Tamil Nadu's online counselling process, the Dinamalar Engineering Counselling Guide programme - Vazhikatti held in Madurai and Sivakasi has proven to be a game-changer for many students and parents seeking clarity on course and college selection.

The event, held in collaboration with the Chennai Institute of Technology, featured expert sessions on how to make informed decisions during the engineering counselling process. Students and parents who attended expressed their appreciation for the practical insights provided by education consultants and industry professionals.

"Gained clarity on course and college selection"
Padma, a student from Madurai, said the program helped her understand the significance of acquiring additional industry-relevant skills. "The advice given by education counselor Ashwin on the kind of skills companies expect and related courses was particularly useful," she said.

Another student, Poornima from Madurai, who plans to pursue Electronics and Communication Engineering, shared that the session helped her decide which college to choose based on various quality parameters.

"Choice filling explained clearly"
Sundari, a parent from Madurai, said the guidance on how to handle the choice-filling process was invaluable. "The explanation on upward movement preferences, making corrections, and selecting top colleges based on past placement data was simple and clear," she said, adding that Dinamalar had removed a major source of confusion.

"Helped overcome fear of counselling"
Tanyasri from Sattur described the event as a confidence booster. "I was very confused about the counselling process, but after attending the program, I gained complete clarity on how to proceed and choose a suitable course. The session also highlighted how current decisions affect future career prospects," she said.

"Fear turned to clarity"
Anees Kumar, a student from Rajapalayam, echoed similar sentiments. "I was unsure which college and course to choose based on my cut-off. But after understanding last year's cut-off trends and this year's competition, I now have a clear idea about where I stand," he said.

The initiative by Dinamalar is being seen as a timely and helpful intervention, especially at a time when students and parents often feel overwhelmed by the complexities of online counselling.
