Miller attributed this decline to three primary factors.Firstly, strained diplomatic relations between India and Canada have contributed to a considerable decrease in the influx of Indian students. Secondly, the insufficient availability of housing options for Indian students has posed a challenge, further dissuading prospective students. Thirdly, a notable number of educational institutions in Canada are reported to lack adequate facilities, adding to the deterrence for Indian students.During the last quarter of 2022, the number of Indian students studying in Canada was 108,940, but by the last quarter of 2023, this figure plummeted to 14,910, marking an 86% decline in student enrollment. In a situation where the Canadian government is taking measures to reduce the number of Indian students, it is also aiming to halve the intake of foreign in the first half of the current year.
