New Delhi: The Government of India has constituted a High-Powered Task Force (HPTF), headed by Nandan Nilekani, to examine and recommend comprehensive reforms in the conduct, security, design and governance of public examinations, including those conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The task force is examining measures to strengthen institutional systems and processes, ensure examination integrity and security, deploy appropriate technologies, augment examination infrastructure, promote accessibility and inclusion, and safeguard student well-being.

As part of the exercise, the HPTF has invited suggestions from students and candidates, parents, teachers and academic institutions, examination-conducting and test-indenting bodies, subject matter experts, technology professionals, industry organisations, civil society organisations and other stakeholders.

Suggestions may cover the conduct and security of public examinations, examination design and assessment methodology, governance and accountability, prevention and redressal of examination malpractices, use of technology including secure computer-based testing, examination infrastructure, and inclusive examination frameworks.

Stakeholders may also submit suggestions on transparency, grievance redressal and communication, measures to promote student well-being throughout the examination process, and any other measures that could add value to the examination system.

Suggestions can be submitted by September 13 through the task force website, phone, WhatsApp or email. Submissions may be made in English, Hindi and regional languages.

The inputs received through the public consultation will assist the HPTF in formulating its recommendations to the government.

The task force aims to develop a robust, secure, transparent, equitable and future-ready public examination system.
