Chennai: In celebration of Children's Day on November 14, 2023, Hindustan International School proudly launched its UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Impact Club, aimed at fostering a more sustainable and equitable world by 2030.The club's primary objective is to empower students to maximize their contributions to the SDGs, with a strong emphasis on raising awareness and driving action towards the 17 outlined goals. Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman of the Hindustan Group of Institutions, inaugurated the SDG Impact Club, highlighting the institution's commitment to community involvement and its dedication to shaping a sustainable future.During the inauguration, students creatively presented the various SDGs through mime performances, effectively conveying the goals and generating awareness among the audience.Hindustan International School is steadfast in its mission to nurture socially responsible global citizens, instilling the right values for a brighter tomorrow. Through proactive and forward-thinking strategies, the school has consistently paved the way for a globally oriented learning environment.The event featured Mr. Rajesh R Trivedi, Co-founder and Managing Trustee of ALERT, a volunteer-driven NGO dedicated to empowering the common man in emergencies, ensuring the "Right to Life" becomes a reality in India. Mr. Trivedi, shared his wisdom and experiences with the former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, commending the school for initiating the Impact Club and applauded its efforts.With the launch of the SDG Impact Club, Hindustan International School aspires to create a safer, better, and more responsible environment for its students. The program aims to educate students on transforming the world towards peace and prosperity, contributing to a positive impact on society and the planet.
